W A T E R P R O B L E M
This morning, March 4th, 2015,
Portlaw's water supply was cut off for approx. three hours.
There was NO WARNING given to householders,
many of whom had to eventually go out and purchase water.
Then the supply was restored
and appeared just as you see in the above photo.
Y U C K ! ! !
The photographer, who kindly texted me the above photo,
said she then had to turn on all the taps in the house and yard for forty minutes,
to clear the discolouration,
but wondered how safe it was to drink.
She's still sparingly using the €8 of water she had to purchase.
Apparently this happens occasionally in this area.
Is this water safe to drink?
Fortunately for me, I was out of the area for most of the day!
