C A R N A L W A Y

Carnalway Church and cemetery, Co. Kildare, where I spent some time a short few years ago among the headstones, seeking info on the la Touche family, and specifically Rose la Touche. I only found one re a la Touche servant.  I need to see the interior of the beautiful building, where I expect to find more info.

Roadside Folk Art

Interesting piece of folk art painted on a stile.
The right side of the stile showed a river or a seascape with waves.
Any info on the subject matter  would be appreciated.

One left click will show an enlarged copy.

The Croagh Patrick Climb with Charlie Bird

Congratulations to Charlie and hundreds of supporters, including many personalities, who reached the summit of the mountain yesterday at 12.30 pm approx. The event was supported worldwide by groups who organised hill and mountain climbs and long distance walks elsewhere. An amazing achievement for the man himself and also for the fundraiser he set up, with long-suffering Vicky Phelan very much in mind, which is likely to reach over €2,000,000 for the Motor Neurone Association and Pieta.

(The photo used in the above graphic shows famed Slievenamon/Sliabh na mBan from the Kilsheelan to Fethard road).
