View from 'The Reen' aka Dereen, also Doirín.

View from up over Glengoole village, Co. Tipperary.  Lough Doire Bhile/Lough Doire Mheille just left of centre near horizon.  Keeper Hill, behind the north Tipperary Hills, 1/4th way in from left. The location has a great memorial to the late Pat Lyons, traditional button-key accordionist and other local musicians, also a fine picnic area and car park. Approach from Glengoole village.

U.S. Navy Seals!!!

Accidentally came across these guys acting suspiciously in a secret location in Co. Tipperary today. Was sworn to secrecy, or I'd be quickly neutralized! Preparing for a 'Special Operation' near eastern Europe, I'd say!

The late Séamus Brady (Butlerstown Parish).

Séamus, who passed away some days ago, was probably one of the most talented and best-known musicians in the area for many years. Not alone that, he also had one of the finest repertoires of ballads. He is seen here playing at the 'Cow Shed', Listrolin, at one of the greatest trad sessions ever, courtesy of Ken & Sheila Wood.  Ar dheis Dé go raibh sé.

The instrument is believed to have originated in Persia around 900 AD. The piano evolved from it.
