One of Derry's many murals

Taken on a visit to Derry with the late Dónal McGrath on 3rd Feb. 2005. Dónal, from Tyrone, was a popular musician, who played frequently at the now-demolished Kilmeaden Inn.  He was quite an accomplished mountaineer, having climbed in a number of countries, but tragically lost his life in a fall on Snowdon mountain, Wales, a few years later. Air dheis Dé go raibh sé.

Great news coverage given this morning, 30.1.22,  on both BBC and Al Jazeera TV, to the Bloody Sunday commemoration in Derry (50th anniversary).

Valley in the Comeraghs

The enlosure, right of boulder in bottom left, contains the remains of 'The Republican Cottage'.

The western sky

Nothing dramatic about this cloudscape, looking west from the polo field, but I wasn't the only one remarking on it!
