The Weather in Ireland

Fortunately, despite the severe cold, we are escaping the horrendous snow that Northern Ireland and parts of Wicklow have been experiencing for the past six days, with many people trapped in their homes and large numbers of livestock lost, especially sheep and lambs.

We did, however, have a number of light snowfalls in recent years.
The above scene shows the Clódagh river and former-cotton-mill canal, with Bridge Street houses in the background, in November 2010.
