Nativity Window at Colmonella Presbyterian Church, Ayrshire, taken six years ago.

Nollaig Shona daoibh go léir, agus Ath Bhliain Faoí Mhaise!

Happy Christmas to you all and a prosperous New Year

All quite belated. due to problem with software!

My ex-partner, Phyllis, and I had the pleasure  of visiting the church  in 2019 and viewing it's stained glass windows on our return from the Hebrides, including Iona.  The  above one, depicting the Nativity, was surely outstanding.

Outside the nearby manse we met professional musician, David Ross, who now lives there. After discussing music for a while, he then produced a concert flute and we played a number of tunes together, starting with 'The Dark Island', which I had learned a few days previously in Skye.

The tune, originated only in 1958 approx. when it was composed by a certain gentleman, as a gift for his G.P. , the island being BENBECULA, located between the islands of Northern and Southern Uist. Benbecula ('Beinn na Faoghla' in Gallic), means Mountain of the Ford'.
