The Ice-Bucket Craze

The Ice-Bucket craze seems to have taken over from other 'dares',
and is now sweeping the world,
fortuntely raising huge funds for the
Motor Neurone Disease cause.

Clonagam Mass - August 2014

Mass was celebrated once more at Clonagam cemetery
yesterday, August 6th, 2014.
This was the third such celebration during the past four years
and, once again, good weather prevailed.
A gentleman from the Mothel area, who found the number present last year
 to be ninety-eight (98)
said there was exactly double that number present this time.
A truly ecumenical occasion again this year
with Church of Ireland members attending and participating.

 A pre-ceremony  Pow-Wow between the clergy!

Introductory remarks by the celebrant, Fr. Richard O'Halloran, C.C.

"It might rain yet . . . !"

Sheltering from the breeze by the church wall were:
Peter Phelan, Assumpta Phelan and Barbara Whelan.

A reading by Lord Waterford.

A reading by  by Mr. Austin Coffey.

The Prayers of the Faithful by Fr. Liam O'Callaghan.

Lack of chairs didn't worry these ladies
who availed of the boundary wall!

'The Chalice of Salvation'

By the west gable of the church was the warmest place to be!

Prayers after Communion
read by Rev. Dr. Christine O'Dowd-Smyth
temporary rector - Fiddown Union of Parishes (Ch. of Irld.).

The participating clergy:
L  to R:  Rev. Fr. Liam O'Callaghan,
Rev. Dr. Christine O'Dowd-Smyth,
Rev. Fr. Richard O'Halloran, C.C., Portlaw - celebrant.

The sunshine had developed into a warm glow
as the last of the congregation was leaving.
